Eco-Council meeting with Stuart Legg from Trowbridge Town Council
Our dedicated Eco Council took time away from their Forest School session today to take part in an important meeting with Stuart Legg, Director of Estates at Trowbridge Town Council.
Last term, the children wrote to the council sharing their concerns about litter, graffiti and fly tipping in the brook near the school and around the local Paxcroft Mead area. They passionately advocated for change and were delighted to receive a response from Stuart Legg.
During today’s visit, the children proudly showcased our school grounds and shared their vision for developing our outdoor spaces over the coming year. They spoke confidently about their commitment to this year’s compost project and how they have helped educate the wider school community.
The meeting also included a collaborative brainstorming session, where ideas were shared about how Paxcroft School and Trowbridge Town Council can work together to improve the local environment. The children were particularly keen to be actively involved in future initiatives such as litter picking, tree and flower planting, and learning more about the council’s development of outdoor spaces. They were especially interested in promoting the importance of “no mow” areas and helping to educate their families and friends about environmental responsibility.
As a school, we are incredibly proud of the thoughtfulness, dedication and passion shown by our Eco Council. We are excited to be working in partnership with Stuart Legg and Trowbridge Town Council, and we look forward to seeing these plans develop in the future.
