Our Learning This Term

In English this term, we will start the term by looking at fictional narrative story writing.  We will be reading 'The Firework-Maker's Daughter' by Philip Pullman and will also be looking at the book 'Once Upon a Dragon's Fire' a story book by Beatrice Blue.

In Maths the children will be covering units on Place Value and Addition and Subtraction. 

We will explore both Science and Geography this term through our topic work. To begin the term, we are focussing on the Science unit - ‘Animals Including Humans’.  The children will be learning about the human body and what we need to stay fit and healthy. They will be identifying the different teeth and bones in their body and looking at how we digest food.  Our next unit of work will be the Geography unit - ‘Volcanoes and Earthquakes’. The children will learn about the structure of the Earth and Volcanoes and will learn about why and how earthquakes happen.

We will be having an RE Day this term where we will be comparing what different faiths believe about God.
