Admissions
Choosing a school which will provide the best education and personal happiness for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent has to make. We are proud to offer a calm and caring environment which will help your child settle in very quickly. Our staff are dedicated and committed to ensuring each child is supported individually, ensuring they have the opportunity to flourish as they progress through the school.
There is so much to think about when choosing a school, hopefully the information on our website can provide you with a clear picture of what is on offer at Paxcroft Primary School.
We are delighted to be able to welcome prospective parents and children into school for visits.
Please contact us by phone on 01225 762244 or via email to admin@paxcroft.wilts.sch.uk and we will happily book you in for a tour of the school with one of our Senior Leadership Team.
Open Days for children starting in September 2024 have now closed.
We will be holding open days in the next academic year for parents of children who will be starting school in September 2025. Dates will be posted on this page as soon as they are confirmed.
We follow the Wiltshire admissions process and the application process is now underway for September 2024. All parents who live in Wiltshire will need to apply for their child to attend a primary or secondary school. You can do this online by following this link (click here to apply online) or by completing a paper application, which can be found below. This form must be returned to Wiltshire Council.
The timeline for the admissions process this year is as follows:
Date |
Action |
15th January 2024 |
Deadline: All paper and online applications must be received by midnight. If you apply after this date your application will not be considered until all those received before the deadline date have been processed. This means that the outcome of your application may not be decided until the end of May 2024. |
January - April 2024 |
The School Admissions Team: will liaise with schools and other authorities to make sure that, where possible, parents get a single offer for the highest preference school. If we are unable to offer you a place at any of your preferred schools, and you live in Wiltshire, an alternative place will be allocated for your child at the next nearest school to the home address with available places. |
16 April 2024 |
Offer day: Letters are posted out to all parents who applied by the 15 January 2023 deadline offering them a place at one school. Parents who apply online will be able to log back on to the online system on national offer day to view the outcome of their application, you will require your username and password which was created at the time of application. It is important that you keep these details safe as the school admissions team are not able to send duplicate emails to you confirming these details. Decisions on applications will not be given out over the telephone. |
30 April 2024 |
Deadline: For parents to accept the place they have been offered. If you do not respond by this date, we will assume that you do not want the place and it will be offered to another applicant. If you have been refused a place at your preferred school, you can appeal. See the appeals timetable below. Waiting lists are set up. Further information will be contained in the decision letter that will be posted out to you on national offer day. |
24 May 2024 |
Second round offers: Late applicants (second round applications received between 16 January 2023 and 23 April 2023) will be considered alongside any applicants who were refused in the first round. All applications will be considered in line with the school’s individual over subscription criterion and any spare place and places that have become available after the April offer day, will be reallocated. |
7 June 2024 |
Deadline: Second round offers to be accepted by parents. Parents should return their acceptance/decline slips back to the LA. If the parent does not respond to the Local Authority to confirm if they wish to accept or decline the offer by the date stated in the letter, the Local Authority will send a second letter to the parent informing them that they have seven days in which to accept or decline the place which has been offered. They will also be advised in this letter that failure to respond could result in the offer of the place being withdrawn. If there is still no response a third letter will be sent to the applicant informing them that the offer of a place has been withdrawn. It will then be the parent’s responsibility to apply for an alternative school place. |
